Quénod is an angel who is said to have conjured rains to fill the seas, lakes and rivers of the world.

Name

The name Quénod, like most names of angels, comes from Órun. Also like all angels, his true name is unknown, as the native language of the angels is incomprehensible to humans. Notably, he is known as Cuànaidh in Astach, where he is a prominent figure of worship.

Biography

Birth

Like all other angels, Quénod was created from the primordial ichor by Ár. Though all 24 angels were initially created as female, Quénod is among those who would take on male attributes later in life.

Age of Flood

After the creation of the world, the Sun, Moons, fauna and flora, Quénod conjured rainclouds over the illuminated world which rained continuously for thousands of years. This created bodies of water such as rivers, lakes, seas and oceans.

Quénod was among the angels who fought against the seraphs in the Angelic Wars.

Consensus

Quénod is worshipped as one of the ten angels in the Consensus. He represents rain, rivers and the sea but also strong emotions and the balance between anger and tranquility. He is not worshipped by the Seraphic Order, who instead worship the seraphs.

Cuànaidhann

Quénod is the central figure of Cuànaidhann, where he is syncretized as the god Cuànaidh. The people of Astach being renowned seafarers, he is the deity of the seas, the rains and harvest.
