The clayfolk are a race of mysterious artificial beings originally created thousands of years ago.

Name

Appearance

Clayfolk resemble humanoid figures made of soft flowing clay, sporting various color patterns and a singular sensory hole on their "face". They have four-fingered hands but no feet, their legs instead resembling stilts. Sizes and morphologies can vary greatly, but most clayfolk are tall and lean, generally taller than the average human.

Biology

Clayfolk are physically immortal. While their bodies do not age and can regenerate infinitely, their souls still age. Once a clayperson's soul dies, they harden and become immobile. Most clayfolk will choose where a specific location to die, often one that is of importance to them. Clayfolk dying around where other clayfolk have died is also common, leading to "graveyards" of petrified clayfolk.
